SiliconCoder is committed to making our website and training programs accessible to everyone, including people with disabilities. This page describes our accessibility commitments, current conformance, and how to report issues.
1. Our commitment
We aim to meet or exceed the requirements of the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA, and to provide an inclusive learning experience for students who use assistive technologies, who have low vision, who are deaf or hard of hearing, and who have motor or cognitive disabilities.
2. What we have built in
The current site includes the following baseline accessibility features:
- Semantic HTML structure with proper headings, landmarks, and lists.
- Every image carries a descriptive
altattribute or is marked decorative. - Instructor avatars use
role="img"witharia-labelso screen readers announce names. - Pages declare their language with
lang="en". - Color contrast on body text and interactive elements is checked against WCAG AA thresholds.
- Forms use visible labels and accessible focus states.
- Interactive elements are keyboard-reachable; expandable FAQ items respond to keyboard input.
- No motion-based interactions trigger automatic playback or rapid flashing.
3. Known limitations and ongoing work
We are still improving in these areas and welcome reports:
- Some decorative images use empty
alt=""attributes; we are reviewing whether each one is truly decorative. - Live cohort sessions are not yet captioned in real time. Recorded sessions receive automated captions and we provide manual transcript review on request.
- Downloadable PDFs (syllabi, outcomes report) are being remediated for screen-reader compatibility on a rolling basis.
- The site has not yet undergone a third-party accessibility audit. We plan to commission one before our first full public launch.
4. Assistive technologies tested
The current site has been informally tested with the following:
- Screen readers: VoiceOver (macOS, iOS), NVDA (Windows).
- Browser zoom up to 200% without layout breakage.
- Keyboard-only navigation on all primary user flows.
We have not yet completed comprehensive testing with JAWS, TalkBack, or Dragon NaturallySpeaking. Reports from users of those technologies are especially welcome.
5. Requesting accommodations
If you are an enrolled student or applicant and need an accommodation for any part of our training program — including extra time on assessments, alternative formats for course materials, or sign-language interpretation for live sessions — contact us at accessibility@siliconcoder.example. We respond to accommodation requests within 5 business days and never charge a fee for accommodations.
6. Reporting accessibility issues
If you encounter a barrier on this site or in our programs, please tell us so we can fix it. Email accessibility@siliconcoder.example with:
- The URL of the page where you encountered the issue.
- The assistive technology you were using, if any.
- A short description of what was difficult or impossible.
We treat accessibility reports as bug reports and prioritize them accordingly.
7. Formal complaints
If we are unable to resolve an accessibility issue you have reported, you may file a complaint with the relevant accessibility authority in your country (for example, the U.S. Department of Justice for ADA Title III concerns in the United States, or the Equality Advisory and Support Service in the United Kingdom).
8. Updates to this statement
We will update this statement when we make material changes to our accessibility posture, or at least annually. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent revision.
Questions? Contact legal@siliconcoder.example. We respond to formal requests within 30 days.
